The DARA (Drugfree And Recovery Assistance) Project CE Scheme is an interagency initiative involving DSP, County Kildare Leader Partnership, SWRDATF and KWETB and was first established in Sep 2013 as part of the ring-fenced CE positions under the National Drug Rehabilitation Framework.
The role of Drug Rehabilitation Programs is to provide community-based support systems to reintegrate recovering drug users back into their communities and into broader society.
The Aims of the DARA Project Are:
•To provide a range of supports to persons who have become drug free and empower them to reach their full potential.
•To assist those referred to become independent, socially integrated and personally productive through person-centred, rehabilitation, community employment, educational and vocational interventions.
•To work collaboratively with service users and the relevant agencies and services.
•To inspire hope and positive reinforcement in all aspects of their recovery.
